                  Diwali
Diwali is the festival of light
All the houses are shining bright
                    Firecrackers are all around
                    Shooting sparks from the ground
                  Diwali is finally here
                    Hooray! Hooray! We all cheer
                    Magical lamps cast a glow
They are arranged in a neat row
                  Women walk in fancy clothes
Wearing jewels from head to toe
Everyone prays with a lot of devotion
Getting together on this festive occasion
                  Diwali brings happiness and joy
                    Children young and old enjoy
                    It erases ignorance and greed
And spreads the message of friendship indeed

                  My Swimming Race

The race is about to start
I get in position with my thumping heart
                    The whistle blows
I jump into the water like a garden hose
                    I swallow some water
                    Sputter some out
But winning is all I think about
I get close to the end as people cheer me on
This is the best race I have come upon
                    I reach the finish line
                    I have won the race
Everyone can see the smile on my face

                  My Little Bluebird

My little bluebird is a mixture of sky blue and white
It flaps its wings with all its might
Feathers fall out of its little mane
As it zooms around like an airplane
It lets out a soft mellow sound
It swoops down and skims the ground
It lets out a loud shriek
Tiny worms pop out of its beak
My little bluebird is one of a kind
It is the best bird you will ever find.
My little bluebird heads back to its
                    nest
It sits there in need of a rest
Laying in its nest it chews its worm
It holds on tight without letting it squirm
The bird is full and ready for flight
It takes off into the twilight
It fly’s past the setting sun
Flying in the sunset is loads of fun
My little bluebird is one of a kind
It is the best bird you will ever find.
The poor little bird can fly no more
For the sky is as dark as charcoal
It lays in its nest falling deep asleep
Waiting for morning for its first leap
After a night full of rest
My little bluebird is out to do its best
It hunts down worms that are plump and good
And chews on them for food
My little bluebird is one of a kind
It is the best bird you will ever find

My father is a first aid kit,
He protects me from the worst,
                    Always has a solution inside,
When I am about to burst.
A bandage for my hurt feelings,
A cast for all my sorrow.
He is always trying to help,
                    And make a better tomorrow.
                  His scissors are very useful,
They cut through all my pain.
All my bad thoughts and feelings,
                    Flow right down the drain.
                  Everything for emergencies,
My dad will have for sure.
He is truly a first aid kit,
                    That I know for sure.
